For over 35 years, I was tasked with building, defending, and commanding the communication lifelines for the United States' most elite forces, from the Joint Communications Unit and the Special Operations community to serving as the CIO/J6 of United States Central Command.
Today, I serve as Senior Vice President for Programs Support and Solutions at CACI International Inc, a Fortune 500 national security leader. Whether directing the Army Futures Command Network or executing a transition into corporate executive leadership, my philosophy has always been the same: when crisis hits and the plan falls apart, you must lead with immediate initiative.

The roots of the philosophy
The leadership ideas in Loose Ball, My Ball did not come from a graduate seminar. They came from a football field at Pittsburg State University, a hockey rink in Northern Virginia, a phone call from a son deployed to Mosul, and decades of getting communications up in places they were never designed to work.
It is a career spent learning one truth over and over: the organization that makes better decisions faster wins. Everything else is detail.
